M&M WORLD LED RETROFIT

Site: M&M World, Leicester Square, London
Client: M&M World
Sector: Retail
Specification: LED Lighting Retrofit & Energy Reduction

Polyteck delivers 30% energy reduction for iconic Leicester Square retail destination.

M&M World required comprehensive lighting upgrade to reduce electrical consumption and achieve maximum LEED accreditation points in Sustainable Sites category.

The challenge: existing installation comprised 600+ luminaires consuming 74,000 kW annually.

Polyteck conducted comprehensive survey and developed tailored retrofit strategy.

We converted 230+ halogen luminaires to high-efficiency LED equivalents and engineered customised conversion of 370+ HID track luminaires to LED configurations.

All works were phased during off-peak periods maintaining full store operations.

Lighting circuit electrical consumption dropped from 74,000 kW to 52,000 kW annually – 22,000 kW reduction representing 30% energy savings.

This delivered maximum LEED accreditation points supporting M&M World’s sustainability credentials.

The result: exceptional ROI with estimated payback period less than one year, reduced maintenance costs, improved light quality, lower heat output reducing air conditioning demand, and substantial carbon emission reductions.
